How to use this walkthrough

This is a quest-log companion, not a line-by-line story transcript. Open the quest that matches your current title, check the objective shown in the game, and mark it complete only after the next objective appears. The saved state is useful when a play session ends between a field checkpoint and a town return.

The official guides explain that Echoes of Aincrad advances through quests, unlocking areas as the story moves forward. They do not publish a universal demo completion time. That makes the current objective a more dependable progress marker than an hour estimate copied from another player's run.

Prologue: survive the opening ruin

The Prologue starts as a rendezvous and escape route, then escalates into two named encounters. After meeting the party and clearing the room, search for the exit. The recorded objective order then names the Sentry Golem, a search for the pink-haired girl's party, an investigation step and Illfang the Kobold Lord.

Do not spend the first run trying to optimize every system before the game has introduced its town loop. The practical goal is to learn attack reach, guarding, evasion and resource recovery well enough to survive the boss sequence. Keep the exact objective marker open when the ruin branches.

Iori's Request: learn the preparation loop

Iori's Request deliberately moves through the services that support later quests: the inn and room orb, the 1st Floor return, the Smithy, the Item Seller and the teleport gate. After accepting Iori's request, the route heads toward a northwestern safe area, a Snowcap Boar encounter and checkpoint activation.

This is the point to establish a repeatable habit. Talk to the relevant service, confirm the active equipment and supplies, then activate the field safe area before wandering away from the marked route. The Iori profile explains his role without repeating the quest checklist.

Repeatable routeThe opening quest loop
  1. 01

Read the current objective before leaving town.

  2. 02

Activate the first safe area or warp terminal you reach.

  3. 03

Return for supplies or upgrades before committing to the next boss.

Within the Shadows: recover Iori's Col

Within the Shadows begins with Argo's request and a search for the rumored monster. The target steals Iori's money, turning the route into a pursuit. The ordered log then calls for a Shrewman, a Glenspore Grizzly and recovery of the key item named Iori's Col.

If the target appears to leave after taking damage, continue following the quest marker rather than assuming the encounter failed. The objective sequence makes the recovery item the closing confirmation; defeating an earlier creature is not the same as finishing the quest.

The Violet Fencer I and II: Teardrop Cave

The Violet Fencer I searches for Teardrop Cave, defeats the Dire Strife Wolf and activates the cave warp terminal. The Violet Fencer II returns to the same dungeon with Iori and Cal, pushes to the deepest area and ends by activating the terminal there.

The final enemy name referenced by the extracted objective is missing from the English and Simplified Chinese localization tables in this demo build. The tracker therefore tells you to defeat the target displayed in your current quest log instead of publishing a guessed boss name. Use the Cal profile to recognize the character joining this part of the route.

How long is the demo?

There is no official fixed-hour answer. A player who rushes dialogue and follows markers will record a different time from someone testing six weapon classes, exploring every revealed point or repeating bosses. Use the five quest records as progress landmarks, not as a promise that every regional demo build exposes the same endpoint.

For purchase testing, prioritize the questions the demo can answer reliably: whether combat feels responsive, whether your chosen weapon rhythm works, whether the AI partner format suits you and whether performance is acceptable during a real field encounter. The main demo guide covers downloads, platform availability and save transfer.

Quest data limitations

These names and objective relationships come from Steam demo build 23442858 and were checked against its English quest records. Packaged data can include records that are unavailable, renamed or reordered in another build. No dialogue, cutscene script, map coordinate or unverified drop rate is reproduced here. The installed quest log remains the final authority for what to do next.
