Activate a Safety Area or Warp Terminal before exploring side paths.

That reveals the regional map and points of interest. Use Return to Checkpoint for a quick field reset, or Transfer at a Safety Area or Warp Terminal to Return to Town while keeping the items and Col collected so far.

Looking for a place name? Open the Floor 1 and Floor 2 location index to search towns, regions and dungeons or save your next route.

Keep collected items and Col, then repair the build before continuing.

How to reveal the map

  1. Enter the unexplored quest region and follow the main route until you find a Safety Area or Warp Terminal.
  2. Activate it before leaving for a side path.
  3. Open the map and check the newly revealed treasure chests, Arks and other points of interest.
  4. Place a pin on the objective or the next mechanism before moving on.

The map is intentionally incomplete before activation. If the objective marker seems unhelpful, the solution is usually to survey the environment and reach a checkpoint rather than search the blank map for a hidden toggle.

Return to Checkpoint versus Return to Town

OptionUse it whenImportant limit
Return to CheckpointYou want to fast travel to a Safety Area or another visited point during a field quest. It is not available during dungeon quests.
Return to TownYou need supplies, equipment changes or a full build reset without throwing away the field run.Reach a Safety Area or Warp Terminal, choose Transfer, then select Return to Town.
Force RelocationThe character is stuck on unintended high or deep-water terrain.Use Settings → Gameplay Settings → Force Relocation; it is a recovery tool, not normal fast travel.

How to leave a quest without losing your haul

  1. Reach an activated Safety Area or Warp Terminal.
  2. Select Transfer.
  3. Open the map and choose Return to Town.
  4. Visit the Inn, Smithy or Item Shop to repair the weak part of the build.
  5. Resume the quest after the weapon, partner and Item Pouch are ready.

Items and Col collected up to that point are retained. This makes Return to Town the correct choice when supplies are low or a new drop needs enhancement. Continuing only because you have already spent time in the field can turn one short reset into several failed boss attempts.

Safe reset checklistReturn before a boss when any one of these is true
  1. 01

Healing Crystal uses and carried recovery items are nearly exhausted.

  2. 02

The useful weapon drop you found is still unenhanced or has unchecked EX-Mods.

  3. 03

Your current partner or Sword Skill loadout does not solve the boss pattern.

Fast travel inside town

Town warp commands can move directly to the Main Terminal, Smithy, Item Shop and Chest. Use them as a preparation loop rather than walking the same streets after every quest:

  1. Chest: store excess materials and prepare equipment.
  2. Smithy: enhance the target weapon and review same-type synthesis donors.
  3. Item Shop: buy or craft missing recovery and field items.
  4. Main Terminal: select the next quest, verify the partner and restock the Item Pouch.

How automatic item restocking works

At the Main Terminal, open the Start Quest screen to refill the Item Pouch from matching items stored in the Chest. Empty pouch slots can also be filled with recovery consumables. The system cannot create items: if the Chest has no matching stock, that item will not be replenished.

Check the pouch before confirming the quest. Automatic restocking saves menu time, but it does not guarantee that the Chest contains the healing, SP recovery or field tools needed for the route.

What to do when the character is stuck

Unintended routes across extreme heights or deep water can leave the character unable to return normally. Open Settings → Gameplay Settings → Force Relocation to move to a safe location. Use this before reloading an old save or abandoning useful progress.

Navigation rule: reveal first, pin the destination, then explore. A two-minute checkpoint detour can save a much longer search, and an early Return to Town is often faster than forcing an underprepared boss attempt.
