Charged burst: Boss knowledge, charged attacks and large single openings.

A high-commitment class that converts a known recovery window into a large charged punish. It cannot use a shield. The main trade-off is low mobility, long recovery and a roll in place of the standard dodge make bad reads costly.

How the 2H Sword class plays

Two-Handed Sword supports chargeable high-damage attacks, has low manoeuvrability, cannot use a shield and changes the dodge into a roll. Its practical defensive plan is straightforward: Read the full attack pattern, roll clear, then commit only when the recovery is long enough.

Low mobility, long recovery and a roll in place of the standard dodge make bad reads costly. That does not make the class weak; it defines the problem the rest of the build must solve. Evaluate the class through repeatable openings, SP and Stamina management, and the defensive response you can perform under pressure.

Choose it when
  • You already recognize the boss's long recovery windows.
  • One large punish is more reliable than repeated short pressure.
  • You enjoy planning position before attacking.
Reconsider it when
  • You are still learning the encounter blind.
  • Long animations repeatedly lock you into incoming attacks.

A repeatable 2H Sword combat loop

Practical sequence2H Sword encounter loop
  1. 01

Stay outside the attack until the complete pattern is visible.

  2. 02

Roll through or away from the final hit and confirm the recovery.

  3. 03

Charge only for the window you actually have.

  4. 04

End the punish early enough to reset before the next pattern.

This sequence is a starting discipline, not a fixed combo. Enemy behavior, difficulty, partner choice and equipped skills can change the right timing. Run it against a familiar encounter first so only the weapon decision changes.

2H Sword build checks

  • Learn the roll distance before a high-risk quest.
  • Pair one manageable skill with the main heavy punish.
  • Use partner aggro to create a stable charging window.
  • Judge the class by successful openings, not theoretical paper damage.

Base ATK, upgrade costs, drop locations and exact skill multipliers are not present in the current public extraction. Check those values in the running game instead of treating a weapon's lore description as a combat effect.

2H Sword FAQ

Can this class use a shield?

No. Two-Handed Sword gives up shield access, so spacing, movement and timing are the defensive plan.

Is 2H Sword the best weapon?

No class is best for every player and encounter. 2H Sword is strongest as a fit when your goal is boss knowledge, charged attacks and large single openings. Use the weapon fit finder to compare that goal with the other five classes.

Which individual 2H Sword weapon should I use?

Start with the weapon you can enhance and whose scaling and EX-Mods support the stats you already use. The Demo descriptions above identify records and lore, but they are not a substitute for current in-game ATK, upgrade level or effect values.

Evidence boundary: class mechanics are based on official guides. Weapon names, descriptions and skill relationships are versioned to Steam demo build 23442858. The combat loop and build checks are editorial recommendations.
